Raise Funds While
Having Fun
Fun fundraising ideas attract more people
compared to conventional fundraising activities. People get more
excited when they can loosen up and have fun while helping other
people who are in need.
These events are usually worth remembering and
worth doing again. Some of the fun fundraising ideas are the
following:
1. Organize a
singing contest for kids that works exactly like “American
Idol”.
Ask some kids to try-out and select the best
ones. Organize the contest by getting three judges and drafting the
rules.
Hold the event in a place that is big enough to
accommodate expected guests and set admission fee to a minimum of
$5.00. Gradually increase the amount until the final day of the
competition.
2. Hold a
poetry contest.
This will be more successful in a school
setting. Encourage students to join by giving out great prizes.
Charge admission to the contest or charge each contestant an entry
fee.
3. Organize
concerts featuring local bands and artists.
This will be a big hit for music fanatics. This
can be held on a monthly basis depending on the crowd reaction and
ticket sales.
Feature different artists each time and solicit
feedback from the crowd once in a while about the artists they
would like to see in the upcoming concerts.
4. Organize a
paintball tournament.
This will surely attract a huge number of
people. Charge each participant per game and provide prizes for
winners.
5. Attract
homemakers by holding cake decorating or cooking
contests.
This will attract people who love to eat and
some will learn how to cook. Viewers and participants can bid on
the cakes and dishes after the contest.
6. Gather
groups of friends and sell pizzas.
This is always a great fundraising idea
especially during Super Bowl season. Simply pack up ingredients for
making great-tasting pizza, find a busy street, and sell them for a
profit.
7. To attract
young ladies, host a bridal fashion show.
Bridal clothes and accessories are always
fascinating to ladies. This fundraising idea requires huge amounts
of money upfront for the hotel, models, and designers but it will
definitely be worth it.
Aside from the models, hire an experienced
commentator that will add spice to the show. Charge an entrance fee
or raffle bridal accessories.
Most traditional fundraisers settle for
conventional activities in soliciting donations. Adding spice and
color to some fundraising events isn’t a bad idea. Help others and
bring a smile at the same time, it’s worth it.
